Description
Caseway SC-100 is a solvent cement for bonding acrylic to itself and other plastics such as polycarbonate, styrene, and CAB (cellulose acetate butyrate). SC-100 is water thin and evaporates slower than SC-125 but faster than SC-94. It will develop a strong bond within minutes and can be applied quickly with a solvent syringe, dropper, brush, or by using the “soak method”. Solvent cementing depends on the softening and intermingling of the two surfaces to be joined so that there is actual cohesion between the materials themselves. After assembly, the solvent evaporates or dissipates through the material leaving no residue. The choice of cementing technique will depend on the type of joint and material to be cemented. *Typical setting time is 3 minutes, but may be longer depending on temperature and humidity. The bond strength will continue to increase over several hours.
