Description
Toluene, also known as Methyl benzene, Methyl benzol, Phenyl methane, or Toluol is a substituted aromatic hydrocarbon with the formula C7H8. Toluene is a colorless, aromatic hydrocarbon, which is used as a solvent in the manufacture benzoic acid, benzaldehyde, explosives, dyes, and many other organic compounds; as a solvent for paints, lacquers, gums, resins; thinner for inks, perfumes, dyes; in the extraction of various principles from plants; and as gasoline additive.
