Description
Methacrylic Acid, also known as MAA, Acrylic Acid, or 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl- is an organic compound with the formula C4H602. It's clear, colorless, volatile liquid with a characteristic odor. Methacrylic Acid is slightly soluble in warm water and miscible with most organic solvents. Undiluted or glacial methacrylic acid [MAA] is produced for use a building block to make a wide range of polymer-based products like binders in paints and coatings but also water-soluble polymers, as an interlevant in glass and, as an intermediate for the manufacture of methacrylic acid esters.
